Katy Perry to perform at IPL Opening Ceremony

Pop superstar Katy Perry will be performing at the opening ceremony of the inaugural edition of the fifth IPL.

The 27-year-old blue haired pop icon will kick start the fifth season of India’s annual Twenty20 cricket tournament – The Indian Premier League – with her exhilarating “Hot n Cold” performance in Chennai on 3rd April. She is undoubtedly the biggest name in International Music Industry, at present.
IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla in a statement has confirmed that Katy Perry will perform at IPL 2012 Opening Nite.

The pop star tweeted and seemed to be pretty excited about the event. She has asked everybody to get ready with their dancing shoes as she is set to rock the stage. Cricket Crazy Indian Fans are already excited about the event. This will be her second visit to India after her visit to India with ex husband Russel Brand.
This is a major achievement on the part of the IPL Organizers this year for being able to bag an International Celebrity.

The super hot pop sensation is the next to join the league of international pop A-listers like Jennifer Lopez, Akon, Lady Gaga, Metallica and Pitbull, who have performed in India in the recent times.

Rajeev Shukla said that a performer of her caliber will make the occasion even more special for the IPL family comprising of players, organizers and fans. The vitality and originality of her music matches is similar to that of the competition everybody is looking forward to a thrilling performance from her.

The opening ceremony will also feature Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra.

The show will begin at 7:30 pm and the tickets are already available at a starting price of approximately fifteen hundred rupees.

At present, she is single after her break up with Russell Brand earlier. But it appears that singer Katy Perry has found a new partner. The twenty-seven year old pop star cuddle up to The Artist’s puppy star Uggie as he attended the party at Weinstein Company last night at the exclusive Soho House.

The pop singer tweeted a snap of her giving the star canine a snuggle. She tweeted, ‘Catch of the day! Uggie from “The Artist” (not the guy in the background!)’ and posted a nice picture.

While Katy is known for her lively dress on stage and on sometime on the red carpet. She wore her most materialistic dress yet at the event last night. The blue-haired pop star dropped off her curves into advanced embroidered silver dress that she paired with few yellow satin heels.

The coy look was slight of a change for Perry who is generally spotted an array of fun and quirky dresses.
She accessorized the coy ensemble along with a cream bag and wore her Smurf hair out in a long and straight style. The The I Kissed A Girl star mingled with a mass of huge stars inside the party including personalities like Meryl Streep.

The sixty two year old star who is nominated for the Best Actress category for her role in The Iron Lady appeared majestic for the event in blue long-sleeved attire paired with shoes. She enclosed her arms in a pashmina to keep her warm. Also wrapped in blue was Brooklyn Decker, the Sports Illustrated model. She appeared stunning in a maxi dress complete along with black waistband.

Katy Perry unfollows Brand on Twitter

Katy Perry, who announced their separation about a month ago, made a strong statement by unfollowing Russell Brand, her estranged husband on the social networking site Twitter. Russell’s twitter account is now not included in the list of 83 people that Katy follows. But, Russell Brand still follows Katy on Twitter @katyperry. Brand last tweeted on 6th January, 2012. The pair has a flirtatious story on this social networking site, with Russell infamously uploading a snap of his wife sporting without make-up on Twitter.

This move by Katy is not at all surprising as she is only communication with him via email, text messages and phone. According to rumors, the singer is specifying these interactions. Katy remained very confident and strong, after the break-up as the singer did not have any intentions to appear battered.

Katy has been mostly went off from the social networking site following Russell’s registering divorce last month, but returned enthusiastically by tweeting about California Dreams tour’s final date.  On Thursday night, she performed in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The singer is focusing on her career rather than speaking about her break up in public. In the stage, she performed with a careless mode even went on to flirt with male fan. Perry kissed the man while performing and that half-naked man kissed on her hand.
Russell, who had already written 2 autobiographies named My Booky Wook and My Booky 2, is reportedly planning to work on a third one and some think that Katy is really concerned about that. This brand new memoir may reveal everything about the pair’s marriage time. Rumors say that Perry feels insulted and betrayed as Brand treated her very poorly.

Last week, Katy tweeted that ‘no one’ talks for her.  Lately Katy was spotted filming an advertisement in Santa Barbara by showing a fearless face.
